Privacy policy
01Who we are
Built for SaaS (formerly WealthiSteps) is a design and development studio for SaaS companies. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Built for SaaS. This policy covers this website, builtforsaas.com, and the way we handle personal information when you contact us or work with us.
02What we collect
We collect information in two ways: what you give us, for example through forms on this site, by email or on a call, and what your browser shares automatically when you visit. We may also use analytics, cookies and similar tools to understand how the site is used and to improve it (see Cookies and similar tools below).
- Forms and bookings. Details you enter in contact, booking, newsletter or other forms on this site, such as your name, work email, company and role, plus anything you write in a message or tell us on a call.
- Enquiries and bookings. Your name, work email, company, role and anything you write in a message or on a call, when you book a fit call or contact us.
- Projects. Briefs, files, brand assets, access credentials and feedback that you share while we work together, plus invoices and billing details.
- Payments. Card and bank details are handled by the payment provider (for example Contra). We never see or store them.
- Usage and device data. If we enable analytics, we may collect pages viewed, referrer, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you interact with the site, using cookies or similar technologies where needed.
- Technical logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
03Why we use it
To reply to you, run fit calls, scope, quote, design, build and bill projects, keep our records, and keep the site secure. The legal basis is your consent when you contact us, our contract with you once we work together, our legal obligations (such as tax records) and our legitimate interest in running a secure business.
04Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run the studio and this site, which may include form, email and scheduling providers, analytics and consent tools, customer relationship tools, and payment and invoicing providers, for example: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Contra and similar providers (proposals, payments and invoicing), our email and scheduling providers, and the design, development and project tools we use on your project. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose it if the law requires.
05Cookies and similar tools
Where we use cookies, pixels, local storage or similar tools, we use them to keep the site working, measure traffic and improve it, and, if we run campaigns, to measure their results. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), we ask for your consent before setting non-essential ones, and you can change your choice at any time or block cookies in your browser settings. We do not sell personal information. Third-party sites you reach through our links (such as Contra and LinkedIn) have their own policies.
06How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted. Client project files and records: for the project and up to 7 years after, for tax and legal reasons. We delete project credentials and access when the work ends.
07Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK and parts of the US), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Use the contact details below. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
08Security and transfers
We use access controls, encrypted connections and password managers, and we keep client files only in the tools the project needs. Our providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so we ask you to avoid sending passwords by plain email.
09Children
This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Terms of service
01Using this site
You may browse this site for lawful, personal or business evaluation purposes. Do not scrape it, attempt to break or overload it, or copy its design, code, copy or imagery to pass off as your own. The site is provided as is, and we may change or remove content at any time.
02Projects are governed by your proposal
Each project is covered by a written proposal or statement of work that sets scope, price, timeline, deliverables, the governing law and the venue for disputes. If it conflicts with these terms, the proposal wins. Prices on this site are guides, not offers, until a proposal is accepted.
03Payments
Work starts once the deposit is paid. Fixed-price sprints are billed as set out in the proposal (typically a deposit then a final payment before handover). Retainers renew monthly until cancelled with notice, as set out in the proposal. Payments run through Contra or the method named in the proposal. Late invoices may pause work. Deposits are non-refundable once work has started, except where the proposal says otherwise or the law requires.
04Revisions and timelines
Timelines depend on you sending content, feedback and approvals promptly. Rounds of revisions are the ones listed in the proposal. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before we start it.
05Your materials
You keep ownership of the logos, content, product screenshots and other materials you give us, and you confirm that you have the right to use them and let us use them for the project. If the materials infringe someone else's rights, that responsibility is yours.
06Ownership of the work
When the final invoice is paid in full, we assign you the rights in the final deliverables made for you. Until then they stay with us and you may use them only for review. We keep the right to reuse our general know-how, tools, templates and anything we made before the project. Third-party items (fonts, stock, libraries, plugins) stay under their own licences, and we tell you where a licence is needed.
07Showing our work
Unless you tell us otherwise in writing or we sign an NDA, we may show the finished work and name you as a client in our portfolio, case studies and social posts. We will not publish confidential information.
08Confidentiality
We keep your non-public business and product information confidential, use it only for your project, and share it only with people and providers who need it to do the work.
09Liability
We do our work with professional care but cannot promise particular business results, such as conversions, rankings, funding or revenue. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the fees you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10Ending a project
Either side may end a project with written notice. You pay for work completed up to that date. Sections on payment, ownership, confidentiality and liability continue after the project ends.
11Changes
We may update these terms and this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. Projects already under a signed proposal keep the terms in force when it was signed.
